F-4164 Specifications

The F-4164 is a 4-blade design employing a highly aggressive nose, tailored for rapid drilling of soft shales, sandstones and limestones. The F-4164 uses 16mm PDC cutters to complement directional motor applications. High junk slot volume and blade standoff help reduce bit balling. The F-4164 is especially well suited for drilling long intervals of homogenous formations, with some harder lenses and stringers.

The F-4164 is designed for very soft to medium formations, with minor abrasive content. Young shales, highly reactive clays and gumbos can be readily drilled with the F-4164 in waterbase muds. In oilbase muds, the F-4164 will usually drill as fast as the pipe can be handled. PDC drillable float equipment free of iron or brass will allow the F-4164 to drill out and complete long, homogenous formation intervals at high rates of penetration. Versions of the F-4164 are available with different nozzle configurations, modified nose profile, and Twin Cutter (D) option. The standard product configuration is four (4) nozzles. The bit pictured here has our Super-Duty gage protection.

F-5165 Specifications

The F-5165 is a 5-blade design employing an aggressive nose and large face volume for rapid drilling of shales, limestones, sandstones, and clays. The F-5165 uses 16mm PDC cutters for improved ROP. The F-5165 can drill firm carbonates and moderately abrasive sandstones, and is especially well suited for drilling moderately interbedded formations.
